Katie Carbajal is the Choral Director for both James C. Enochs and Fred C. Beyer High Schools.
Katie attended Modesto Junior College before transferring to the University of the Pacific in Stockton. She received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a Choral Emphasis from the Conservatory of Music in 2017. While attending Pacific she performed with numerous ensembles including the Pacific Singers, University Choir, Oriana Women's Chorus, and the "Stocktones" A Capella group. Katie also performed in chorus and lead roles in National Award-winning Pacific Opera Productions. Before coming to Modesto City Schools, Katie spent 7 years in Escalon Unified School District. She taught general music at all elementary school sites there, as well as rebuilding the choral programs at both El Portal Middle School and Escalon High School. Even though Katie is "new" teaching in the MCS district, she grew up involved in the local arts community of Modesto. Katie attended Modesto High School (Go Panthers!!) where she performed with the Choirs, Marching Band, Orchestra, and Dance Production. Outside of school, Katie is on the board as Secretary for the Central Valley Youth Chorus, Co-Logistics Coordinator for the Ca All-State Music Educators Conference (CASMEC), and Central CA Regional Honor Choir Assistant Chair as part of CA Choral Directors Association (CCDA). She is thrilled to be part of the music team and help rebuild choral music in MCS! Katie hopes to provide a safe and empowering space for students to explore and express their love of music and the arts. |
